Five Fall Trends You Should Incorporate Into Your Work Wardrobe

Fall is definitely my favorite season when it comes to workwear styling. I can combine my favorite aspects of other seasons like layering chic sweaters with blazers while still playing with splashes of color (as I do in the spring/summer) before the temperature turns frigid. While I typically try not to incorporate many trends into my wardrobe, nevertheless the less for my work clothes, I couldn’t help but notice the breath of fresh air that that fashion has taken since folks have officially been back outside or back in the office. As a result, fashion is more glammed up than relaxed this year and I am absolutely here for it. With that said, here are my five favorite fashion trends I think you should embrace in your fall work clothing.

Power Suits
This time last year, we were all about athleisure and more relaxed work from home outfits. While leisurewear is still an essential for most, many of the workwear enthusiasts are headed back into the office and want to do so in style. Power suiting has reigned supreme prior to 2020, but now it’s back and more comfortable than ever. For the days you have a formal meeting in the office, or want to dress up for yourself, I highly recommend a tailored yet comfortable power suit to help make you feel like the professional boss you are.

The beautiful power suit I’m wearing in this picture is from a brand I’m  obsessed with called LBV. They recently launched their fall collection you can check out here.

Oversized Button Ups

A classic button up is a staple workwear item, but I absolutely love the oversized trend. I bought a few oversized button ups for the days I work from home and I love how comfortable yet chic they look. I typically pair them with leggings or joggers or can even dress this up with an oversized sweater and boots if I need to step out to run a few errands. This item is a cozy work from home favorite of mine that can be dressed up for down depending on the need.

Leather Looks

While leather (faux is my personal preference) is typically a fall beloved piece, I noticed this season brands have added a new twist to it. Notably, brands are creating nontraditional pieces such as trench coats, midi dresses, leather culottes you can actually incorporate comfortably into your work wardrobe. I love incorporating leather inspired looks into my looks, but now I have more options that are chic and still professional.

School Girl Aesthetic

Whether you miss the days of wearing a uniform to school from your childhood or you’ve been wanting to incorporate youthful pieces into your work wardrobe, this trend is perfect for you.  Personally, my mind is conditioned to think of fall as Back-to-school time (despite graduating YEARS ago) so this preppy fall fashion trend is a bit nostalgic for me. I’ve already purchased a few of the recommedndations below and cant wait to showcase the looks for you guys.

Vintage or Retro Vibes

Last but certainly not least, vintage looks have certainly made a comeback. Considering the current financial climate with prices of everything steadily increasing, throwback looks from the 90s and early 2000 have certainly made a comeback at an affordable price. For this trend you can mostly find inspiration at your local thrift store or consignment shop, or website such as ThreadUp or Depop. To incorporate this trend for work, try ribbed cardigans (great to pair with trousers) or wide leg jeans and a blazer for a casual Friday vibe.

Do you think you’ll try any of the trends I mentioned above this fall? If so, let me know in the comments!
